The Reds top-scorer wins the prestigious gong.
Despite losing to Chelsea in the Premier League Liverpool can still boast the 2014 PFA Player of the Year winner as Luis Suarez is awarded the gong.
The Uruguay international was the odds on favourite to be crowned the best player in the Premier League, ahead of teammates Steven Gerrard and Daniel Sturridge, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Yaya Toure of Manchester City and Southampton captain Adam Lallana.
Suarez has had a brilliant season with the Reds in which he appears to have put the controversy of recent years behind him to just push the team forwards towards success.
After missing the first six matches of the campaign due to a ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, the 27-year-old started scoring immediately after coming back into the starting XI.
To date Suarez has netted 30 times in 31 matches in the league and is looking to propel the Merseysiders to their first English title since 1990.
