Porto starlet Christian Atsu could be on his way to Anfield.
Liverpool have tabled a £3m bid for Porto winger Christian Atsu, reports the Daily Mirror.
Boss Brendan Rodgers has moved for the 21-year-old after deciding to listen to offers for Oussama Assaidi and former Aston Villa star Stewart Downing.
Atsu has a £10m release clause in his contract but Porto are set to consider cut-price bids for the Ghanaian this summer because he has just one year remaining on his current deal.
The players is understood to favour a move to Tottenham to link up with former boss Andre Villas-Boas, who handed Atsu his debut at Porto.
But as yet there has been no official approach from the north London outfit.
Atsu confirmed this week that he will not sign a new contract with the Primera Liga champions and wants to continue his career in England.
“There are times when we have to think about following our dreams and this is the time to follow my dream,” the Ghana international said.
“Since I started playing football I have dreamt to play in the Premier League. I will be sad to leave Porto but if I leave I would want my future to be in England.”
