Rodgers is reportedly given the green light to visit the January sales.
Liverpool are targeting a double swoop on Serie A for two South American stars in the January transfer window after manager Brendan Rodgers was handed a significant new year transfer kitty in a bid to try and bring the club out of the malaise that they have entered this season, according to reports from the Metro.

The most eye catching of the two players is precocious young Palermo forward Paulo Dybala, with the young Argentine having been one of the breakthrough players of the Serie A season as the Sicilian club have adapted well to life back in Serie A following their promotion last season.
Dybala would reportedly cost an eye-watering fee of £31 million for clubs looking to lure him away from Sicily, so it is a good job that the second mooted deal would represent something of a bargain – Sampdoria goalkeeper Sergio Romero, who impressed for Argentina at the World Cup in the summer but could be available for as little as £1.6 million.
