Reds to pursue yet another Southampton ace.
Liverpool are said to be weighing up a bid for a fourth Southampton star as they no turn their attentions to striker Jay Rodriguez, according to the Metro.
The Reds have already brought in Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana from the south coast club, and earlier this month saw a £20 million bid for defender Dejan Lovren knocked back.
And despite new boss Ronald Koeman insisting that he does not want to lose any more star plays – having already lost Luke Shaw to Manchester United as well – Reds chief Brendan Rodgers will look to spring a move for Rodriguez.
The former Burnley man was in fine form for the Saints last term, bagging himself 17 goals as he looked to be en route to making Roy Hodgson’s World Cup squad before an injury against Manchester City scuppered his chances.
However, Liverpool remained interested in the player and could look to bring him on board as the price for Swansea City star Wilfried Bony continues to creep up.
The Swans are looking to bag upwards of £19 million for the Ivorian hit man, and despite recently receiving a £75 million windfall from the sale of Luis Suarez Rodgers is reluctant to meet the Welsh side’s demands.
