According to reports, the 24-year-old joins the likes of West Brom youngster Saido Berahino and Porto goal machine Jackson Martinez as Rodgers’ top transfer targets to help fire the Reds back into the top six.
Sakho has hit the ground running in the Premier League, scoring eight times in ten matches since a £4.4m move from French club Metz in the summer.
Balotelli has been in form form so far this term, bagging just two goals since joining from Milan, and with Daniel Sturridge no closer to a return from a thigh injury a new striker will be at the top of Rodgers’ priorities.
