Lallana might have to strong arm the Saints into selling him.
Southampton captain Adam Lallana could push through his transfer to Liverpool after returning from the 2014 World Cup later this month, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers has made the England international one of his prime targets this summer, but has had a very sizeable £25 million offer rejected by the Saints, who do not want to sell their skipper.
Lallana though now harbours big ambitions of playing in Europe and feels that it is the right time to bid farewell to his boyhood club, who he joined at the tender age of 12.
Although the 26-year-old would be reluctant to end things bitterly with the Saints by handing in a transfer request, he is expected to ask for a move to Merseyside soon.
Should he still not have his way, he might have to put in a transfer request, possibly leaving the Saints with no option but to accept Liverpool’s offer.
