Aston Villa captain Fabian Delph is expected to undergo a medical at Manchester City this weekend ahead of an £8m move to the Etihad Stadium.
The Citizens have reportedly activated the release clause that was inserted into Delph’s contract when he signed a new deal at Villa Park earlier this year, according to Sky Sports.

The England midfielder, who had previously been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, has not travelled to Portugal for Villa’s pre-season camp and could be a City player by early next week.
Manuel Pellegrini is targeting home-grown players to boost City’s quota and Delph, who has made 112 Premier League appearances, fulfils the credentials and is of the quality required.
Villa have lined up Idrissa Gueye as a replacement for Delph, who joined the Midlands club from Leeds United in 2009, and have already agreed a £9m fee with Lille for the Senegalese midfielder.
