Brendan Rodgers has made only three changes for Liverpool’s pre-season friendly against A-League opposition Adelaide United in Australia this morning.
Dejan Lovren, Joe Allen and Jordon Ibe are handed opportunities to impress but otherwise Rodgers names the same starting XI which beat Brisbane Roar 2-1 on Friday – an indication of how seriously the Reds boss is taking their preparations for the upcoming campaign.

Mamadou Sakho, Lucas Leiva and Danny Ings are those who drop out, while Rickie Lambert and Alberto Moreno are unlikely to feature for long periods as they are carrying injuries picked up in training.
England right-back Nathaniel Clyne is one of four new arrivals in the starting XI. Another, Joe Gomez, will hope to put in another strong performance to put himself in first-team contention.
The new-look central midfield partnership of captain Jordan Henderson and free transfer James Milner are given another match in which to gel ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League kickoff on August 9th.
Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke appears to be on his way to Anfield, but for now it is his Belgian international teammate Divock Origi who leads the Liverpool line in a 4-3-3 formation.
Kickoff at the Adelaide Oval is scheduled for 10.30am GMT.
