Liverpool look set to join Arsenal and Manchester United in the chase for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho, according to reports.
Carvalho was heavily linked with a move away for the Portuguese outfit in the summer and is considered to be one of European football’s brightest young talents.
According to reports in Spain, Liverpool are keen to make a move for the 23-year-old despite the reported interest of both the Gunners and Red Devils.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is under major pressure to deliver after making a raft of new signings during the off-season, but it is understood the Northern Irishman is keeping tabs on the Portugal international.
Despite the addition of James Milner to Liverpool’s midfield, the Reds seem to still be lacking the physicality and power of Steven Gerrard, and the strong Carvalho could be the answer to the side’s issues.
