Reds are ready to splash the cash after much deliberation.
Liverpool are ready to invest in young full-backs from La Liga, Alberto Moreno and Javier Manquillo, reports the Daily Star.
The Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers is running out of time to plug the holes in his defence ahead of the new season, and wants a right-back and a left-back added to his squad to manage the extra workload of the Champions League.
Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno has long been chased by Liverpool, who might finally be willing to meet his £20 million price tag, while Atletico Madrid’s versatile full-back Javier Manquillo is also highly rated and was rumoured to be heading to Anfield on a two-year loan deal.
Liverpool are still doubtful about 28-year old ace left-back Jose Enrique’s readiness to reclaim his first team spot, and thus could start the new season with just Glen Johnson and Jon Flanagan as their regular first team full-backs.
Hence, Rodgers might want to sign at least one between Moreno and Manquillo as cover for the full-back positions.
