The Reds want to bring in a replacement for misfiring pair Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini in the near future, and could look to beat Arsenal to this £31m-rated striking sensation.
The Argentine has been in superb form in Serie A this season, attracting plenty of interest and drawing comparisons with Manchester City star Sergio Aguero.
It is thought that a deal for Dybala to move to Arsenal is close to completion, though Liverpool will now hope to hijack the deal and bring in a replacement for Balotelli.
