Tottenham are closing in on the signing of Juventus forward Fernando Llorente, according to reports.
Llorente had also been linked with a move to Liverpool, however, Metro reports Tottenham have made an £11m bid for the Spanish World Cup winner and are in pole position to complete the deal.
The 30-year-old is understood to have been rendered surplus to requirements by Juventus boss Max Allegri following the summer signings of Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala and Simone Zaza.
Llorente played second fiddle to Alvaro Morata and Carlos Tevez last season, however Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is believed to view to striker as a perfect partner for English starlet Harry Kane.
Tottenham completed the signing of Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld last Wednesday, and news Llorente’s signing would come as a huge boost for the club’s Champions League aspirations.
Pochettino’s side finished fifth in the Premier League last term and will feature in the Europa League next season.
