Liverpool has decided to pursue Kovacic as a result, and they are reportedly prepared to meet his valuation that is worth £17.8m, but they will have to pay another £3.5m to fully match his transfer value.
Kovacic will make a valuable addition to Liverpool, as they are in need of midfield depth after losing veteran Steven Gerrard to the Los Angeles Galaxy.
