With the start of a new Premier League season fast approaching, fanatix writers were asked to predict which manager will be the first to be sacked in the 2015-16 campaign.
Many of our pundits tipped Watford boss Quique Flores to lose his job first, but Liverpool’s Brendan Rodgers and former Chelsea chief Claudio Ranieri, who recently took charge of Leicester City, were also selected by multiple members of the team.
Check out the selections and the reasoning behind them below…
Jordan Chamberlain says…
Can’t see Quique Flores adapting to English football, and Watford’s spending seems random. The manager that got them promoted left over the summer, so it’s not like Flores even deserves much of a chance anyway.
Steven Green says…
Though it’d be great to see the newly promoted clubs stick with their managers, the Watford owners are known for being quite trigger-happy and if results aren’t going their way I could see Quique Sanchez Flores joining the dole queue before Christmas.
Jonathan Machin says…
Eddie Howe. With Premier League newcomers Bournemouth hugging the bottom of the table early in the season while the owners remain confident the team can escape relegation, board members will dismisses the 37-year-old coach to bring in a more experienced man to try to save the season.
Glen Harrington says…
Claudio Ranieri – Well past his best and in a difficult situation following last season’s great escape – he can only go downwards. Had a hopeless spell with the Greek national team and I’d be surprised to see him last past Christmas.

Max Miller says…
Quique Flores, Watford. Has signed 10 players this summer, and has 22 different nationalities in his squad. If that doesn’t make his job hard enough, they went through four managers last season – and that was while they were winning.
Mohamuud Jama says…
Quique Flores – Watford’s owner has proven to be trigger-happy in the past and will fire again at the first sign of trouble.
Mark Brus says…
Poor guy, but it’s surely going to be Claudio Ranieri. The Italian has been around the clubs for the last decade now, achieving very little, and he never really looked like hacking it in the Premier League when at Chelsea.
Charli Casey says…
Brendan Rodgers. He doesn’t look to have learned his lesson from last summer in spending big on players who are yet to prove themselves. He has taken another gamble with Liverpool’s funds, and if his signings don’t gel from the start, expect a sacking before Christmas.
Ashley Attlee says…
Quique Flores – Watford have gone through a number of managers recently, and the Premier League will be a big step up. I can’t see there being any sackings early on in the season, but if Watford struggle then Flores could be shown the door.
Andy Morris says…
Brendan Rodgers was lucky to keep his job after May’s 6-1 battering at Stoke. He will be given a bit of time this season. After all, he has been backed in the transfer market. Nevertheless, with the Reds miles adrift of the top four before Christmas, I reckon the Anfield board will finally lose patience.
