Liverpool are set to reach a deal for 17-year-old striker Taiwo Awoniyi on Wednesday, according to the Daily Express.
Liverpool look set beat Monaco and Porto to the signature of the youngster, who turns 18 this week.
The Reds plan to loan Awoniyi out as soon as they sign him in order for the attacker to gain first-team experience.
Liverpool have failed to get a work permit for the Nigeria Under-23 international and it is expected he will be loaned out to a club in Belgium or Holland.
The Reds have signed Christian Benteke and Danny Ings to boost its attacking depth.
Benteke was signed for £32.5m and figures to continue being a key scorer in the Premier League.
However, the Liverpool attack did not show very much life in their 2015-16 season opener.
Midfielder Philippe Coutinho’s goal at the end of the match was enough though, as the Reds escaped with a 1-0 victory over Stoke City.
