Barcelona have admitted new star signing Arda Turan could be shipped out on-loan for the opening half of the La Liga season.
The Catalan giants fought off Chelsea and Manchester United for the Atletico Madrid man’s signature, however the Spanish club cannot register any players until January 2016 due to its FIFA-imposed transfer ban.
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu told Spanish radio station RAC1 that immediate future of the Turkish international was in the hands of manager Luis Enrique.
“[Loaning him out] is a possibility,” Bartomeu is quoted as saying by Daily Express.
“But the final decision must be made by coach Luis Enrique and it must be a purely technical decision.
“It must be a team not playing in the Champions League.”
The news will come as a massive boost to Liverpool and Tottenham, who will not play Champions League football this season and were previously linked to a move for the former Galatasaray man.
Liverpool have been highly active in the transfer market this summer, bringing in James Milner, Danny Ings, Roberto Firmino, Adam Bogdan, Nathaniel Clyne and Joe Gomez, while Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke is reportedly close to making a £32.5m move to Anfield.
Spurs have been strengthened defensively, adding Toby Alderweireld, Kieran Trippier and Kevin Wimmer to its squad during the transfer period.
