Los Blancos eyeing sensational move for in-form Reds star Suarez.
Real Madrid are willing to pay up to £60m to land Liverpool striker Luis Suarez in January, according to Goal.com.
The La Liga giants have reportedly made the Uruguayan their primary marquee target for 2014 but are aware a deal is more likely to take place next summer.
Suarez went public with his desire to leave Anfield this summer but the club refused to sell, and the 26-year-old has been on sensational form since returning to the team following a ten-match ban.
After bagging a stunning four-goal haul against Norwich on Wednesday, Suarez leads the Premier League goal-scoring charts with 13 goals in nine matches and Reds boss Brendan Rodgers says the former Ajax star merits comparison with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Rodgers and co. value Suarez is the same bracket as Gareth Bale, who joined Real for a world-record £86m fee last summer but the Uruguay international turns 27 next month so is unlikely to command as high a fee as 24-year-old Bale.
Arsenal remain admirers of Suarez and had two bids for him rejected in the summer but Liverpool will not sell to a club they consider a direct rival.
Real boast just one senior striker at present after selling Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli and a January move for Suarez is particularly appealing because he will be eligible to play in the latter stages of the Champions League.
