Liverpool transfer rumours
The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and the Ligue 1 title contenders reportedly have no plans to extend his stay at the Stade Velodrome.
Reports in the Guardian are hinting that the Reds have been in touch over a possible deal to bring him to Merseyside as a replacement for fellow veteran centre-back Kolo Toure, whose contract is also set to expire at the end of May.
Fanni is a seasoned top level performer, having featured for the likes of Lens, Nice and Rennes before joining Marseille in the summer of 2011.
With five caps for the France national team under his belt, Fanni has featured 24 times for his club this season, scoring one goal in the process.
