The 17-year-old has been hailed as one of Europe’s most exciting talents, and Reds scouts were in the city this weekend to check up on his progress.
And he is being talked up by current teammates, too, with Cristian Tello comparing him to his former Barca colleague.
“He is fantastic with the ball at his feet, he knows how to position himself and he’s aggressive,” he said.
“He’s similar to Sergio Busquets.”
Scouts watched as he came from the bench during Porto’s 1-0 defeat to Maritimo this weekend, though he is also on the radars of Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain this season.
Having recently extended his contract with the Portuguese giants, he has a £29m release clause attached to his name and he is widely being tipped to receive full international honours at some point later this year.
