Liverpool will take advantage of Cardiff’s potential relegation, and target their England international centre-back Steven Caulker in the summer, reports the Express.
Caulker has been one of the Welsh side’s better performers this season, but his form hasn’t enabled his side to avoid a relegation battle. Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s men lie perilously in 19th place, three points off safety.
The 22-year-old though was recently called up to Roy Hodgson’s England squad, and will no doubt be desperate to continue playing Premier League football next season whether Cardiff are relegated or not.
Liverpool have had problems in defence this year, and are only performing so well because of their attacking prowess. There are rumours Daniel Agger will leave, while Kolo Toure has made some terrible mistakes in defence, and Mamadou Sakho has suffered with injuries since arriving last summer.
Caulker is very solid in the air, and no doubt has the potential to develop into a seriously good defender at the right club.
