Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic appears to be headed out of Anfield for the time being.
According to ESPN FC, the 21-year-old winger will be shipped to Fenerbahce on a season-long loan.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is hoping to see the Serbian international gain more first-team experience outside of Anfield.
Rodgers seems to be keen on Markovic as a long-term solution, as the Reds have shown no signs that they intend to sell him.
The young winger has not seen significant playing time with Liverpool thus far, as he has only made 19 Premier League appearances since coming to Anfield in the 2014-15 season.
Markovic was bought by Liverpool from Benfica for £20m in the summer of 2014, so this makes it even more of a virtual certainty that he will not be sold anytime soon.
It remains to be seen whether Markovic can benefit from his stint in the Super Lig and return to battle for a starting spot in Brendan Rodgers’ side next season.
