Liverpool ace Daniel Sturridge vows to be back to his best, but not until next season
The Daily Star claim the Italian’s Anfield future has been called into question once again after he, not Liverpool, declared he was unfit for there last two matches.
The Reds summer signing missed Liverpool’s 4-1 demolition at the hands of Arsenal with a knock to the knee before sitting out their FA Cup quarterfinal replay win over Blackburn with a high temperature.
However, with Balotelli and agent Mino Raiola declaring he will not be leaving Merseyside any time soon the Daily Star believe Liverpool will need to pay up to £10m to write off his £95k-per-week contract.
Balotelli will have two years left on his current deal at the end of this season but the Star think Liverpool will try to find a compromise to end his contract early if they can’t sell him outright.
And Brendan Rodgers has identified the likes of Burnley forward Danny Ings and Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette as the perfect replacements for the wayward Italian.
