1) Andy Carroll
Andy Carroll – the most expensive British footballer of all time. The lanky striker cost the Reds £35m back in 2011, having scored the grand total of 11 Premier League goals for Newcastle United following their promotion from the Championship. Naturally, he was awful at Liverpool – scoring six goals in two Premier League seasons, before being shipped out on loan to West Ham, who then signed him permanently, to the relief of Liverpool supporters worldwide.
