Good news for Reds supporters as Coutinho begins his recovery…
Liverpool’s 21-year-old Brazilian playmaker Coutinho is irritated by his injury, but claims his operation went well, reports ESPN.
The young playmaker had been one of the stars of Liverpool’s impressive start to the season, which saw them top the table after three wins and a draw from four games. Against Swansea last week however, a nasty tackle from centre-back Ashley Williams saw the midfielder land awkwardly and injure his shoulder.
Couintho is expected to be out until November, and they Reds are already struggling in his absence, falling 0-1 at home to Southampton at the weekend.
“It’s annoying to get injured, especially when you are playing well, but that happens,” Coutinho said.
“I now want to focus on my recovery and do everything right to be back as soon as possible to help Liverpool in the league.
“The surgery was a success and this is what matters the most. I’ll be back soon.”
Supporters will be delighted that Coutinho could be back sooner than expected, and are eagerly awaiting the renewal of his tandem with Luis Suarez behind Daniel Sturridge.
Coutinho also reckons that his good form could eventually earn him more caps for Brazil, for whom he has only represented once so far in his fledgling career.
“I dream of getting called up again for the national team, but it’s only up to me,” he said.
“Of course it’s bad when you get injured in a moment like this, but this is football.
“I have had a set-back and my concern is being fully ready as soon as possible. If I play well, things will happen naturally.”
