Reds set to strengthen this summer ahead of next term’s Champions League campaign…
Read more Liverpool FC rumours.
Here’s how we reckon Liverpool could line up next season, following a potentially exciting summer in the transfer market.
GK) Simon Mignolet
Mignolet will not be replaced this summer, after his manager lauded the Belgian’s debut Anfield season.
“I’ve been delighted with Simon since he has come in,” Sky Sports reported.
“I think he’s an outstanding goalkeeper who is only going to get better and better.”
Currently on loan Pepe Reina though, could be sold permanently.
DR) Jon Flanagan
Flanagan performed exceptionally well on the left of Liverpool’s defence last term, and arguably outperformed Glen Johnson at right-back. Johnson and Liverpool are struggling to agree a contract extension, and we think Rodgers could quite possibly select the extremely talented Flanagan as his first-choice right-back, where the 21-year-old is naturally most comfortable.
DC) Dejan Lovren
The Croat has performed superbly since arriving at Southampton from France, and his performances have not gone unnoticed. Liverpool conceded 51 goals in the top flight, and need to fix the centre of defence as a result. Lovren has been heavily linked, and although the 24-year-old claims he’s happy on the South Coast, we think it unlikely he’ll be able to truly turn down any serious advances from a Champions League outfit. Daniel Agger could end his tenure at Anfield.
