Liverpool’s want-away star wants to hold talks with Arsenal in light of recent contract clause confusion.
Following Arsenal’s £40,000,001 offer this morning, BBC Sport claim Liverpool star Luis Suarez wants to speak with the North London club.
The forward may have a clause in his contract which allows suitors to speak to him should they offer more than £40m.
Confusion has arisen surrounding the exact details of this clause however, with Liverpool believing that it simply means that Suarez must be informed of any club who lodges a bid in excess of the fee.
It is believed that the 26-year-old Uruguayan is expected to request Brendan Rodgers to allow him to speak with Arsenal, regardless.
The stark difference in opinion over the ambiguous clause in Suarez’s contract was highlighted by Liverpool owner John W. Henry’s humourous Tweet sent out this morning:
What do you think they’re smoking over there at Emirates?
