The former Manchester City star has been a complete flop since his summer switch to Liverpool, prompting suggestions that he could be on his way out after just six months.
Rodgers is not ready to give up on the £16m man just yet however, and insists he is staying put this winter.
“It is not something I have even thought about, to be honest,” the Liverpool manager said. “We have had a lot of games this season and a lot of competitions and at this moment, the key for me is trying to keep this squad together.”
