Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling is to be given the chance to stake a claim for an England World Cup place in next month’s friendly with Denmark, reports The Daily Mirror.

Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson is to hand the 19-year-old and Reds teammate Jordan Henderson places in the squad, and – with Theo Walcott out for the season and Andros Townsend struggling to force his way back into Tottenham team following injury – it represents a big opportunity for Sterling.
The speedy winger scored his fifth goal of the season in Liverpool’s brilliant 5-1 win over Arsenal last week and has been in scintillating form since returning to the Reds first team in early December.
