England manager Roy Hodgson will call up Liverpool’s teenage wonderkid Raheem Sterling to his squad to take on Denmark in March, reports the Mirror.
The 19-year-old has been exceptional for Liverpool recently, and scored two goals against Arsenal at the weekend in the Premier League. So far this term, he’s scored five and assisted two more, and impressed everyone with his unbelievable pace and trickery.
With Theo Walcott out for the remainder of the season, and guaranteed to miss the World Cup, there is an available spot on England’s right wing – and on current form, no one deserves it more than Liverpool’s youngster.
The match against Denmark will be the last England fixture until the end of the season, so Sterling has a chance at securing his spot on the plane if he plays well.
He is especially effective on the counter attack, so could be very handy at the World Cup when England are up against a top side, which they will be with Italy and Uruguay drawn in their group.
