Respected Russian football journalist Artur Petrosyan claims that Skrtel will join Zenit and not Napoli…
Artur Petrosyan, editor of Russian sport magazine ‘Sport Express’, has claimed that Liverpool centre-half Martin Skrtel is close to rejoining Zenit St. Petersburg, instead of Napoli.
The 28-year-old centre-half was thought to be close to rejoining his old Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez at Napoli, but Petrosyan reckons the Russian club have gazumped their offer.
If Skrtel does move on, Liverpool will surely move for a new centre-half, thought to be one of either Kyriakos Papadopolous or Toby Alderwiereld.
Skrtel to Zenit also seems closer. Might be confirmed tomorrow morning. It will mean all but a new CB for #LFC.
