3) Daniel Sturridge

Because of Suarez’s form, it’s easy to forget just how well Sturridge was playing before he picked up an injury. The Englishman formed an excellent partnership with Suarez up top, and was at one point the league’s top goalscorer with nine strikes. He also scored winners in each of Liverpool’s opening three matches, which set the precedent for their excellent first half of the season.
