Demba Ba – Newcastle – Likely fee: £8m
Like last January, Liverpool could sign another out of favour Chelsea striker. If Ba is anywhere near as successful as Daniel Sturridge has been, Reds fans will be in for a real treat.
Chelsea want to sign another forward this winter, meaning Ba will drop to fourth in the pecking order. Liverpool do have the fantastic ‘SAS’ Suarez/Sturridge combination up top, but could struggle badly should one of them pick up an injury or a suspension.
Ba is a proven Premier League goal-scorer, and would really improve the squad, and probably Liverpool’s chances of a top four finish.
