Current United number one David de Gea has been heavily linked with a move back to the La Liga with Real Madrid, and it’s believed the Red Devils will pounce on the France international should the Spaniard exit the club.
Lloris made no attempt to hide his interest in a move to United, saying that the transfer would happen “naturally” if De Gea heads for Spain.
“For the moment there is a goalkeeper at United and we are watchful of his situation. You have to keep a certain calm with all this,” Lloris is quoted as saying by The Sun.
“If things should happen then they’ll happen naturally.”
De Gea is yet to sign a deal to remain at Old Trafford despite reportedly being offered a bumper £200k-a-week five-year deal the club, and it’s looking increasingly likely that United will cash in on the 24-year-old.
According to The Sun, Tottenham are desperate to keep hold of Lloris, so it remains to be seen if the former Lyon man attempts to force his way out of White Hart Lane.
