United linked with summer move for Ajax star Daley Blind.
Manchester United want Dutch international left-back Daley Blind to follow his national team boss Louis van Gaal to Old Trafford this summer, reports the Daily Mirror.
The 23-year old Ajax star impressed in the Netherlands’ first game of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil against defending champions Spain, by providing a scorching assist for United’s Robin van Persie from deep in his half, and is now being targeted by the Old Trafford chiefs.
Ajax are said to be open to the sale of the versatile defender for around £12 million pounds, and the Red Devils’ new manager van Gaal could well convince his player to join him in Manchester after the World Cup.
United incidentally also need a left-back to replace veteran defender Patrice Evra, and little known Blind could be the surprise package for the English giants next season.
Blind is also known for his multi-functionality, and is being seen by van Gaal as a future defensive midfielder for both club and country.
