Red Devils’ set to make £40 million swoop.
Manchester United are ready to make a £40 million swoop for Juventus star midfielder Arturo Vidal, reports the Metro.
The Red Devils’ new boss Louis van Gaal is known to be a big fan of the Chilean ace, and has for long been pushing his transfer team to land the 27-year old.
Although Italian giants Juve would not be keen on selling a player of the pedigree of Vidal, their latest financial crunch has got them to rethink their plans for next season.
They are now believed to be ready to consider a bid as high as £40 million, which has opened the door for United.
There had also been some concerns in the United camp initially about Vidal not wanting to move to a non-Champions League club, but it seems like the English giants’ massive reputation has helped them push negotiations with the midfielder.
While a deal is far from done, United would be offering a massive wage packet worth £230,000 per week to persuade the star from joining them this summer.
