The Dutchman thinks that over the last 15-20 matches the Mancunian side have proved themselves the best. They have lost only once in the last 19 games, and have charged in to third in the division. Despite this, some fans have been criticising the team for their boring style of play.
“When you see the score of the last 15-20 matches, we are the best in the Premier League,” the 63-year-old said,
“I receive credit from the players and that’s the highest credit I can get. From the first day I arrived here I had the feeling that the players would believe. That first game against Swansea was a shock. That match was a big influence. We lost too many points, we could not score goals.
“But now so much is different and I believe that every player knows the philosophy of me and my staff. Everyone wants to follow that philosophy and you can see now that the team spirit is unbelievable.”
United next play Swansea City, and will be looking to extend their impressive run. The Swans beat them on the first day of the season, and Garry Monk will be looking for his side to repeat that result at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
