Van Gaal hopes to tempt star duo to join United in Brazil.
Manchester United’s new boss Louis van Gaal is keen to tempt Bayern Munich’s star duo of Arjen Robben and Bastian Schweinsteiger to force a move to the Red Devils this summer, reports the Daily Mail.
The Dutchman is currently on national team duty for the Netherlands, and might not find it too hard to convince his compatriot Robben about a move to Old Trafford after the World Cup, given that the duo share a good relationship.
German ace Bastian Schweinsteiger has also been on the wishlist of van Gaal for a long while now, and given that the midfield stalwart has been given a restricted role under new Bavarians’ boss Pep Guardiola, a move away from the Allianz Arena could be plausible.
Although van Gaal is intently focused on his job with the Dutch national team this month, the 62-year old will know that he will need to tie up deals quickly for the Red Devils, who also do not have the vital lure of Champions League football next season.
