Uruguay forward earmarks Bale as the man to watch at Anfield on Sunday.
In-form Liverpool attacker Luis Suarez feels that if the Reds can stop Tottenham Hotspur’s flying winger Gareth Bale in their Premier League showdown at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, then they can also stop the North Londoners, reports the Sun.
Both players go into the eagerly anticipated showdown in great form having reach found the back of the bet on 15 occasions in their previous 15 matches, although the Uruguay international’s goals have all been scored for the Merseysiders, while Bale’s run includes strikes for his national team Wales as well.
Suarez also has 28 goals in total this season to the Welshman’s 21, though of course he does play slightly closer to goal as more of an orthodox forward.
It is that red hot form that puts both men up alongside European greats Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, with the former having also scored 15 goals in his previous 15 outings, while the little Argentinian leads the way with an incredible 18 strikes in just 15 games for the Catalans.
“Messi and Ronaldo may be playing in another dimension but Gareth has all it takes to play at the highest level,” said Suarez.
“He is one of the Premier League’s players of the season and is in magnificent form. He is unquestionably the key for Spurs.
“We need to stop him to avoid problems in our penalty area. We’re not obsessed with Gareth but he’s the one to stop, not just because of his goals but because of all his assists for team-mates.”
