Croatian has not settled with Los Blancos this season.
Real Madrid midfield player Luka Modric could be keen on a dramatic return to the Premier League at the end of the season, with the Croatia international’s heart set on joining runaway top-flight leaders Manchester United, according to exclusive reports in the Daily Mail.
Modric, 27, only arrived in the Spanish capital last summer from Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth a staggering £27 million.
However, the little playmaker has since found it hard to settle at the Santiago Bernabeu, scoring just the two goals for the Spanish giants as he has struggled to win a regular starting berth in Jose Mourinho’s side.
However, one of those two strikes did come in the second leg of Madrid’s Champions League last-16 encounter with United at Old Trafford last Tuesday night that helped to eliminate the Red Devils from Europe’s premier club competition.
It is skills like that which will have reminded United manager Sir Alex Ferguson of Modric’s value – particularly with his own midfield overrun by both Real Madrid and Chelsea in their most recent two fixtures.
