Arsenal, traditionally famed for their French players, could be set for a German revolution following the arrival of Mesut Ozil – according to Lukas Podolski.
Ozil, 24, joined international teammates Podolski and Per Mertesacker at the Emirates Stadium on transfer deadline day in a £42.2m deal from Real Madrid.
The move is being hailed as one of the biggest in Premier League history and Podolski believes that Ozil may not be the last German international to join the club.
“I’ve noticed the German mentality works well in England…maybe Mesut was not the last [German] international who comes to us,” the 28-year-old forward is quoted as saying by Sport Witness.
The North London outfit reportedly had a bid for midfielder Lars Bender rejected by Bayer Leverkusen this summer, while the Gunners have also been linked with Julian Draxler of Schalke.
