The Germany World Cup winner has been linked with a move away from the Gunners in recent weeks, with Galatasaray thought to be leading the race for the 29-year-old over fellow Turkish side Besiktas and several Bundesliga clubs.
And according to German publication Sport Bild, Wolfsburg have become the latest side to show more than a passing interest in the forward and have been encouraged to make a move for him after he refused to rule out a return to the German top flight.
Podolski’s place in the Arsenal side has come under threat recently thanks to the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona and it is now thought that the Gunners are open to cashing in on him before the transfer window shuts.
Podolski joined The Gunners after leaving the club he supports, Cologne, in 2012 and made just 27 appearances for the north London outfit in all competitions last season.
