German thinks deadly Bundesliga marksman would be perfect for the Gunners.
Arsenal front man Lukas Podolski has urged Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski to reject overtures from some of Europe’s biggest clubs in favour of joining the Gunners this summer, reports the Daily Star.
The prolific Poland international is currently the subject of a whole host of interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Chelsea after what was a sensational season in front of goal by the 24-year-old last time out.
However, it had been widely assumed that the forward would either stay at his present employers or move to Bundesliga rivals Munich instead when the summer transfer window reopens on July 1.
Germany international Podolski, though, has advised Lewandowski to reject the rest of Europe’s advances and instead make the move to north London, with the Arsenal star telling Polish newspaper Polska The Times: “He would fit ideally into our team.”
Lewandowski netted an eye-catching 36 goals in just 48 matches in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s side last season, including 24 strikes in only 31 league outings for his club.
