Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is expected to undergo a second operation on his right leg following the horror injury he suffered against PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday night.
The 20-year-old suffered a double leg fracture in the 3-1 loss following a heavy tackle from PSV defender Hector Moreno, and talkSport reports the former Southampton man will again go under the knife in Eindhoven on Friday.
Shaw’s injury will have come as a major blow for the Red Devils, with the England international having started the season in excellent fashion.
The youngster is expected to be out of action for 6-9 months, meaning an appearance at the European Championships in France next year is looking increasingly unlikely.
However, Daily Express reports Shaw suffered a “clean break”, meaning his recovery time should be decreased as there are less complications.
