4) Kevin Strootman – AS Roma
Another midfielder LVG wants and admires is Roma’s 24-year-old. The Dutchman is not heading to the World Cup because injuries have plagued his season, but his current international manager, van Gaal, rates him very, very highly. He provides the side with goals from midfield, and a domineering presence. He’s also yet to reach his peak.
