Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has been the subject of rumours suggesting that he may transfer to Arsenal or Liverpool this summer.
However, Lyon boss Hubert Fournier has said that he is expecting Lacazette to stay put, according to The Metro.
Fournier also claimed that the French international is happy where he is.
“I haven’t got much to say. He has said he wants to stay with us,” Fournier said on Lacazette’s future.
The 24-year-old striker took Ligue 1 by storm, as he led them with 27 goals despite making only 24 appearances.
He would be a welcome addition for Arsenal, who are hoping to add a striker ahead of next season.
The Gunners have pursued other options such as Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, as they are hoping to provide a scoring threat to add to Alexis Sanchez’s firepower.
The news of Lacazette staying in France is not likely to concern Liverpool as much though.
They signed former Aston Villa star Christian Benteke in a £32.5m deal, and he is expected to instantly boost their scoring attack along with former Burnley striker Danny Ings.
