Los Blancos are still keeping tabs on Suarez and the Colombian.
After receiving £42.4m from Arsenal for Mesut Ozil on transfer deadline day, Real Madrid are looking towards the next window and want to spend the money on either Liverpool’s Luis Suarez or Radamel Falcao of AS Monaco, according to Marca.
Madrid were heavily linked with Suarez all summer but eventually were too tied up with signing Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur in a world record deal.
Falcao meanwhile only signed for super-rich Monaco this summer in a £51m deal, but is unhappy in the Principality and could still be tempted by a return to the Spanish capital.
Los Merengues have been keen on the Colombia international for some time, but acquiring the striker proved difficult when the 27-year-old was playing for city rivals Atletico Madrid.
However, with Falcao now at Monaco then if the money is right there is no reason a deal couldn’t be reached with the Ligue 1 outfit.
New head coach Carlo Ancelotti is keen to bring in more attacking support up top after the sale of Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli and no replacement coming in.
Currently Karim Benzema is the only recognised No.9 style player at the Santiago Bernabeu, although stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and new signing Bale can fill in if required.
Similarly after being reelected as club president, Florentino Perez is keen to continue the ‘galatico’ revolution at Los Blancos and Suarez or Falcao would fit that bill.
Both South Americans would probably cost in the region of around £40m to £50m, although the Reds might be more swayed by selling as Monaco have only just acquired their man.
