The Metro claim the Blues are prepared to bid £70 million for the Frenchman and are incredibly desperate to win the race for his signature.
PSG and Man City are also thought to be after the 22-year-old, however teammate Andrea Pirlo says Pogba is unlikely to return to Manchester United after the way he was treated by Sir Alex Ferguson, according to The Guardian.
The Guardian also report that it’s Pogba’s personal prerogative to play for either the Spanish giants Real Madrid or Barcelona, who they also link with a move this summer.
If Chelsea are to capture Pogba, they may also have to be prepared to pay a quite ludicrous wage packet with reports today in the Daily Star suggesting Manchester City were prepared to offer him an incredible £250,000 per-week after tax, to make him the club’s highest earning player.
