German’s arrival should free his predecessor to now move to Eastlands.
Liga outfit Malaga have announced Bernd Schuster as their new head coach following the recent departure of Manuel Pellegrini, according to reports on the Spanish club’s official website.
The 53-year-old has been out of work for over two years now since after being sacked as manager of Turkish giants Besiktas in March 2011, where he had been in charge for under a year.
The former West Germany international won 24 of his 45 matches in charge of the Istanbul outfit, giving him an overall win percentage of 53, although it was not enough to keep him in his job.
Schuster has also coached the likes of Shakhtar Donetsk, Koln, Levante, Getafe and Real Madrid and is expected to be officially unveiled as the successor to Pellegrini at the start of next week.
And that chain of events should allow the Chilean to now be confirmed as the next Manchester City manager.
