The Roberto Mancini exit rumours continue to mount, as the Citizens have reportedly reached a preliminary verbal agreement with his successor.
Man City’s owner and board of directors have received a verbal commitment from ex-Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola to replace Mancini at the end of this season, reports the Daily Mail.
The Catalan manager, who is Barca’s most successful ever boss, has been on a one-year sabbatical away from football and is believed to have the inside connection, as he has worked together with City’s new Director of Football Txiki Begiristain, who formerly held the same position at the Nou Camp.
This may mean that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich may have missed out on his dream manager. Earlier today, it had also been speculated that Jose Mourinho was eyeing a return to the Premier League with the job at Eastlands his preferred destination.
