City confirmed the signing of Raheem Sterling from Liverpool on Tuesday, with the England international joining Manuel Pellegrini’s men in a deal worth £49m.
However, that isn’t where they will end their spending as they are now targeting De Bruyne, according to The Mirror.
Wolfsburg are reportedly holding out for a bid of £50m, but City are the only team to make their move with PSG and Bayern also previously linked with the former Chelsea attacker.
Despite his two disappointing years in England, it is reported that De Bruyne would have no issue in returning to the Premier League. Nevertheless, Wolfsburg will want to see a significant return on their investment after he has rediscovered his form in the Bundesliga.
Transfer fees and wages combined, City are undoubtedly making expensive moves this summer as they look to take back the Premier League title from Chelsea in the new campaign.
